Change-Over

Two combined three-way ball valves, balls made of SS. Spring-loaded seals made of PTFE.

For DN 80, DN 100 and DN 150 the flow cross section inside the valve corresponds to its nominal diameter. Connection flanges as bolt flanges, in size DN 80: in DN 80, DN 100 to DIN or ANSI B 16.5 in size DN 100: in DN 100, DN 125 to DIN/ANSI B 16.5 in size DN 150: in DN 150 or DN 200 to DIN or ANSI B 16.5. Standard features include differential pressure indicator, type 4.36.2 with elec. contacts on all filter sizes.

Application

Filtering of lubricating oil, gear oil, turbine oil, fuels, water and chemicals. Installation in suction or pressure lines to protect the downstream plant components, such as pumps, bearings, heat exchangers, valves and piping, against contamination and clogging. The series are very compact duplex filters for the filtration of liquids.

Duplex filters are used where filter elements have to be cleaned or replaced without operation being interrupted. These filters permit change-over without the flow being interrupted.

Technical Features

Design and manufacture comply with the codes of practice in the pressure vessel industry or the ASME Code. Design in accordance with API 614.

Filter Elements

Various filter elements are available depending on the application and degree of filtration required

Basket strainers made of steel or SS
Jacket strainer elements- they consist of several strainer cylinders arranged inside each other offering a large filter surface with a small space requirement
Cartridge elements- they contain several fabric cartridges of the same dimensions arranged in parallel
Star-type strainers- they have a particularly large filter surface area and a low pressure loss
Disposable elements with a degree of separation of b10 > 75
Disposable elements with 10 μm in accordance with API

The disposable elements have a radial seal with bearing ring; the design of the seal lip improves the sealing of the cartridge as the differential pressure increases. The cartridges cannot be mixed up during installation as a blocking feature becomes effective if the cartridges are not positioned correctly.

Operation

The duplex filters can be cleaned without interrupting operation. Using the low friction ball valve change-over feature, operation is changed over to the standby filter chamber without jarring. At the same time the contaminated chamber is switched off. The change-over lever is always on the filter chamber which is in operation. The other filter half is on standby, cleaned and filled. The degree of contamination of the filter elements is shown by differential pressure indicators.
